ST BRIGID'S FESTIVAL
St Brigid - the patroness of women, poets, farmers and healers. St Brigid's Day is celebrated on the 1st of February of each year. With its origins in the Celtic festival of Imbolc, it was a celebration of fertility and a new season of hope and growth. St Brigid is celebrated around the world within Christian and Pagan community groups but in recent years she has been celebrated as a woman that is representative of strong, creative women everywhere. Join us and celebrate with music, dance, song, poetry, story-telling, food, art, crafts and so much more! Follow our social media pages for updates! |

We took to the floor for a night of céilí dancing, tapped along to traditional Irish tunes from Perth's finest musicians, we were joined by some wonderful singers and spoke a Cúpla Focal at our ‘Pop-Up Gaeltacht’. |

cÉilÍ'sIrish céilí dancing is the native group dancing of Ireland. Some of our céilí dances can be traced back to the 1500's.
We will select dances that are easy to learn and perform. With experience of teaching group dances to hundreds of people at one time we can make it work for your event. Céilí dances can have various formations including two couples (4-hands), 6-Hands, 8-Hands, 16-hands or round dances for any number of people. Other formations include lines of couples facing others and progressing on to meet a new line of dancers down the hall. We dance a wide variety of céilí dances in our class to suit all abilities. |
